Dawn Rice, Clinical Director
Dawn Rice is a clinical trainer, Licensed Practical Nurse, and a strong believer in the impact of compassionate, quality care in the healing environment. With more than 16 years of experience, Rice has worked in the inpatient, outpatient, and administrative settings. She has also spent a significant portion of her career as a Director of Medical Education before joining Avascend as the Director of Clinical Training in 2005.
As the Clinical Director, Rice is responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing monitoring of all clinical impact training. She works at both the corporate and client levels to ensure that appropriate protocols are trained and implemented to protect the patient, the employee, and the client.
Rice is a subject matter expert in patient transport, patient identification, HIPAA, HIV, Universal Precautions and is an American Red Cross certified CPR/First Aid/AED instructor. She is a member of both the National and Kansas Federation of Licensed Practical Nurses, and was nominated for a position on the Kansas Board of Nursing. She is also a member of the American Society of Healthcare Risk Managers and the National Association of Healthcare Transport Managers.«
