EVS is often viewed as a commodity service at a hospital, charged with cleaning and sterilizing the medical facility to Joint Commission standards, often at the lowest possible cost. As compliance and regulatory standards tighten, total compliance with Joint Commission guidelines is critical. National patient safety goals, infection control, life safety, and environment of care are all areas which are very firmly observed and directed by regulatory standards and measures, and consequently, are a focus of Avascend’s EVS Service.
